Cost: CWSP vs. Traditional Employee

Cost Comparison: "It makes business sense"

Not only does Arrupe's Corporate Work Study Program help high school students earn a quality education, it also makes business sense for sponsoring companies.   Arrupe's unique formula of work and education adds up to a unique opportunity for students and the Denver business community.

The table below is based on the Mountain States Emloyers Council's 2006 Wage-Salary Survey.  It demonstrates the cost effectiveness of the Arrupe Corporate Work Study Program. Sponsoring companies do not have to worry about typical internal administrative costs such as employee benefits and payroll taxes because the Arrupe Work Study program remains the student's employer.

High turnover positions can be filled by a team of four capable, talented and motivated Arrupe students at a fraction of the cost of recruiting and hiring a traditional entry-level employee.  The fours students each work approximately five days per month, sharing the responsibilities of one full-time position.

The cost to hire a team of four students during Arrupe's ten month school year is $20,000.  Companies also have the option of hiring students during school holidays and over summer vacation for a $75 per diem fee.  Contracting with Arrupe students for a full calendar year costs $24,050, a potential savings of over $9,000 to your company.
