Program Highlights
Arrupe makes a college preparatory education an attainable goal for a diverse group of students who would otherwise never have access to that opportunity.
- Arrupe serves an ethnically diverse group of approximately 333 adolescent boys and girls. 89% of our student body is Hispanic, 3% African-American, 3% Asian, 1% Caucasian, and 4% of other nationalities.
- Over 78% of Arrupe students qualify for the federal free/reduced lunch program.
- Arrupe charges the lowest tuition of any private high school in Denver and is the only school able to fund 100% of families’ assessed financial need.
- Over 86% of Arrupe students receive financial aid to offset tuition, with the typical award covering 60% of tuition fees.
Arrupe is preparing students for success in college and beyond.

- Members of the Class of 2011 were accepted to 67 colleges and universities across the country, and will be attending 11 different schools this fall.
- The Class of 2011 earned over $1.6 million in scholarships.
Arrupe Jesuit High School is a response to a critical community need.
- Fewer than half of Colorado’s African-American, Latino, and American Indian students graduate from high school, versus 75% of white students.
- In 2004, 78% of Colorado’s white students scored proficient or advanced on CSAP reading tests, compared to only 40% of Latino and 47% of African-American students.
- In 2002 only 22% of Colorado’s low-income students went on to college, ranking the state 35th in the nation; only 11% of 18-24 year-old Latinos were enrolled in college at the time.
The Corporate Work Study Program provides a financial backbone that makes Arrupe’s education possible.
- Students work at over 100 area businesses, including law firms, health centers, banks, and nonprofits.
- Students earn the majority of their tuition by working five days per month in an area business; students will earn $1,500,000 through the Work Study program this year.
Corporate sponsors have responded enthusiastically to Arrupe’s program.
- Hiring Arrupe students makes economic sense. Businesses save approximately 30% from the cost of hiring a full-time entry-level worker to do a comparable job while giving high school students the chance to prepare for a future of success.
- 95% of corporate employers choose to continue hiring Arrupe students the following year.
- Evaluations from employers have been overwhelmingly positive, with over 90% of students rated as Outstanding, Very Good, or Good for 2006-07.
- 95% of employers report that Arrupe students provide good value for their investment.
